I was invited to order a free pizza today in connection with a Yelp Elite event. Previously, I had tried Pizza Guys only when it was served at a birthday party, and had never ordered one myself. I looked at the menu online and saw that you could order 1/2 and 1/2 specialty pizzas. I never know with specialty pizzas if it'll be a combination I like, so this option to try two on the same pizza worked for me. I ordered 1/2 Artichoke Fiesta and 1/2 Chicken Spinach Garlic, and also a Mediterranean salad. I arrived to the store 20 minutes after placing my order, located in a little strip mall on L Street. There's only a few tables inside, so I think they mostly deal with take out and delivery. The staff greeted me right away and said they had been busy with the Elite event, but my pizza was in the oven. I noticed that despite being busy, all the staff seemed very efficient, and were all super friendly to customers, and had good communication with each other. Roxanne, who I noticed took phone orders, in person orders and even helped make the pizzas when needed maintained a cheerful attitude even though she clearly had a lot on her plate. When my pizza was ready, she asked me if I needed plates, cutlery, napkins, cheese or peppers - I like this non-wasteful approach to take out instead of just stuffing the bag full of paper products that many customers don't need and will just throw in the trash. She also gave me a coupon for a free pizza in the future, since the pizza was not ready in the time promised. Oh, and I almost forgot about the star of the show....the pizza! We tried 1/2 Artichoke Fiesta (vegetarian) and 1/2 Chicken Garlic Spinach on the Tuscany crust...we liked them both! The Mediterranean salad we ordered was fresh and tasty as well, lots of feta cheese, tomato, red onion and kalamata olives with the balsamic dressing on the side. I'll be happy to order pizza from them in the future!!

Customer service was amazing, called over because I wanted the Malik Monk basketball (Go Kings) and although they were out they still let me know I could get the box I could make into a hoop. Still awesome, excellent pizza, fast delivery, kind people, best pizza franchise in California.

It's been a few years since we have had pizza here and it was a good experience going back! Thankfully with Yelp I could remember what we used to get - cheese, light on cheese, light on sauce - which was still the right call for us. Also tried the MVP with no pepperoni or black olives. Overall tasty and it was ready for pick up when I got the text. Overall great experience!

I have been homeless in Davis, for 7 months and only Davis's Pizza Guy's & Aggie Liquor have gone out of their way to be kind & non judgemental of me. The Italian Sausage w/ Green Olive pizza is amazing & as a Sicilan I will tell you that Italian sausage is perfection & has the exact balance of fennel/basil! Sincerely, Karin L. Anderson

I finally figured out how to update this review. I got a phone call and Kathleen apologized profusely and comped me the meal and gave me a free pizza coupon. I've since ordered from them a few times and it has always been as good as it usually was. So that was an anomaly. YAAY!

UPDATE: Kaitlyn from Pizza Guys called me, apologized for the inconvenience, and I'm more than satisfied with our conversation. It means a lot to me for a business to follow up. Because of taking responsibility, I'm updating my review to 5 stars. Thank you Pizza Guys! I'm a big fan of the Garlic Lovers stuffed crust, which is why I keep coming back. Sadly, I think I'm going to switch to Mountain Mikes, as their Snowy Alps pizza is similar. Today is the second time in a month that I pre-ordered a pickup time over an hour in advance, which was confirmed. I was picking up for a party and was on a schedule. Both times I arrived at the store only to be told " we're behind today, and we haven't even started making your pizza yet". Whaaaattt? I'm reasonable enough to know that things happen, but what I don't appreciate is that there was no text, email, or phone call letting me know. So here I am waiting for them to make my pizza while I have a group of hungry people at my house. This happened at the Davis store. Fool me once...

First two times trying Pizza Guys within a week of each other. I think it's going to be my go-to pizza chain. The classic pepperoni was great, and the MVP was a solid specialty with pepperoni, sausage, and olives. There's a small parking lot in front of the store for carryout, and they also deliver. There is no option for dine in. Check in on Yelp to get a free ice cream!

Surprisingly good pizza in Davis. Can't dine in and built for take outs. Bonus tip: if you check in you can get a free ice cream (at least as of May 10th, 2024).
